Answered Prayers
안녕하세요!!!
So fun to talk to you all last Monday,
it literally made my whole week!! The good news is I will be home again
before the next skype day:)
So last week I forgot to humor you
all with a couple of my language mistakes. So I was saying the word for
animal the other day and then my companion informed me that I need to be
careful saying it or I sound like I am saying poop water, haha. Let’s just say I am being a bit more careful
now!! Then she said she forgot to tell me that I have been saying the
word for paper wrong. I have been saying boil (like the
disease boil) instead of paper, so I keep asking our little 11 year
old investigators if they have any boils instead of asking if they have paper!!
haha, oops!! Oh, I also forgot to mention last week that I ate pigskin,
ahhh!! I had no idea but after we left our investigator's house I asked
my companion and she was a little hesitant to tell me. It actually didn't
taste bad and is apparently really good for your skin. I don't plan on
eating it again though.
This week we visited our grandma
that was baptized last week and they have a cute little dog who is sweet (like Zoe)
but the dog and grandma HATE each other. The grandma kept bothering the
dog and it would start growling at her and then finally it bit her!! The
grandma was so mad!! She kept trying to hit the dog, was yelling at it,
and trying to show him the blood on her hand all while her husband was trying
to protect the dog. It was honestly the most hysterical moment
ever. We kept our laughter in until after we left though. This same
grandma was confirmed yesterday by her husband in sacrament meeting and it was
such a sweet moment, her being baptized is going to make their family even
stronger.
This week God just kept answering my
prayers in all kinds of ways. My favorite food in Korea is called Shabu
Shabu. It is basically hot pot and then you make it into spring rolls so
it is delicious and fun to eat:) I had been craving it all week but it
was a little out of our missionary budget so we didn't eat it. But then
last night we went to our ward mission leader's house for dinner and his wife
prepared Shabu Shabu!! I told her she was the answer to my prayer,
haha!! God even hears our selfish prayers:) But on a serious
note...I have been thinking a lot about my testimony lately and feeling the
spirit as I teach so that I can truly testify of the principles I am
teaching. I have been continually praying for the reassurance again of
the truthfulness of the gospel. On Friday we visited our recent convert
and a member and shared one of my favorite hymns, I stand all amazed. As
we sang that song and I as I shared my testimony afterwards I received that
reassurance and understood Jesus Christ's unending love and that He understands
everything I go through. It was such a comforting moment for me and to
know that God really is listening and there to help me when I need it.
Love you and miss you all so
much!! I am so glad to be here in Korea and teaching the gospel. My
mission has brought so many amazing experiences and there are so many more to
come.
Have a great week:)
Love,
Sister Jacklin
